Adrianne Guineveve Mayo Matias

Adrianne is currently pursuing a Master in Clinical Psychology degree at Taylor’s University. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Sunway University, Malaysia and Lancaster University, UK. She was inspired to become a clinical psychologist during one of her lectures by a former professor during her undergraduate years. She is passionate about aiding all individuals regardless of their background. During her time at an NGO, she was exposed to clients in a rehabilitation setting and refugees. She noticed that many individuals are misunderstood and lack a safe space to talk about their problems. She continues to educate herself through books and receive training from experienced practitioners about trauma-informed practices, and current and new approaches/techniques. Furthermore, she practises an integrative approach to best suit her clients’ needs and advocates for mental health awareness. She has experience working in university and clinical settings, as well as NGOs.
